As Hispanic Heritage Month draws to a close, we engage in a candid conversation with Lt. Pi帽a about culture and leadership.
We proudly recognize Lt. Pi帽a for his unwavering dedication to healthcare equity. With over a decade of experience in public health, Lt. Pi帽a joined the U.S. Public Health Service in 2021.
He is currently serving as Deputy Director in Region 9 with the Office of Infectious Disease and HIV/AIDS Policy (OIDP) within the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Health (OASH). His goal is to make a national impact on advancing the health and well-being of all Americans, especially in underserved communities.
