AS/FEB Student Emergency Fund Application and Disbursement Process
Student Emergency Grants from CDU鈥檚 Academic Senate and Faculty Board
The Academic Senate and Faculty Executive Board at Charles R. Drew University (CDU) offer the Student Emergency Fund to provide one-time, non-repayable grants to students facing urgent financial hardship. Funded through the CDU Academic Senate and the College of Medicine Faculty Executive Board, this initiative provides support to students during unexpected crises. While repayment is not required, recipients are encouraged to give back when they are able, helping to sustain the fund and support future 最新糖心Vlog students in need.
The goal is to provide for an acute financial need that might otherwise result in them having to drop out or suspend their educational journey. We envision funds being used to alleviate a crisis in housing, food insecurity, or other unexpected and immediate needs.
The emergency fund is not intended for long-term financial needs such as tuition, expected ongoing living expenses, and occasional shortfalls. We encourage all students to contact CDU鈥檚 Financial Aid Office and Student Services for information on scholarships, grants, and loans to help finance their educational journey. We expect that applicants will have explored other sources of funding.
The process for receiving grants from the AS/FEB Student Emergency Fund is outlined below.
Students fill out an and submit it to the Academic Senate. The maximum amount that can be requested is $500. Documentation confirming the emergency is required.
(3 business days later) The Academic Senate determines whether the student qualifies for a grant from the AS/FEB Student Emergency Fund based on the student鈥檚 described financial need.
(7 days after grant approval) A grant check is issued to the student.
